So sorry for your loss. 48yo is way too young. Hope he's in peace now.
Thank you so much for this. I hope he's rest in peace out there, too.
I’m sorry for your loss. I know that feeling of sadness myself. Even I have my days of sadness when I lost my father. Even though I lost my father, I still hold and cherish the fond memories of him when he was still here with me. I hope you recover from your loss. If you ever need some time for yourself, that’s okay. Take your time. If you ever need to talk to someone, we’re here for you.
Thank you so much. Very kind words and appreciated it. I do remember you have been thru prior during your sad moment. I am getting better gradually and also feel grateful with multiple small things in life.
It is ok to be sad. No one can tell someone who to grieve. Hope you can celebrate your friends life and be happy. Good that you could be there. Great picture of the vineyards
Thanks for your warm words. I have been grateful to have friends in various countries and to remember by, too.
A friend's and even an ex's funeral will be a very sad experience. But your friend/ex certainly kept his humour saying he wants his ashes scattered in or near a French winery.
Yes, it is his astonishing humour and yet, his sister has made it happen just like this as pretty amazing completion, I think. So happy to have them as friends.
I wish you to: life is not over at 40-something, usually, unless fate and/or circumstances chose another ending...

... And thank you for the beautiful picture of the countryside you kindly shared.
Indeed, life is Not over at 40-something. I would like like to think there are more to come with wonderful things in life.
@virgotokyo Here are the last stanzas of an old French drinking song (aka. "chanson à boire" ) called "Chevaliers de la Table Ronde":
Si je meurs, je veux qu'on m'enterre
Dans une cave où y a du bon vin ;
Dans une cave, oui, oui, oui…
Les deux pieds contre la muraille
Et la tête sous le robinet ;
Et la tête, oui, oui, oui…
Sur ma tombe, je veux qu'on inscrive
« Ici gît le roi des buveurs » ;
Ici gît, oui, oui, oui…
It seems to me that your friend who passed away lately had the song in mind when he specifically asked his ashes to be scattered in a vineyard...
Merci encore.
Hopefully this makes sense??? Shame on me, I should seriously practice better in French again if I wish to write more further...
@virgotokyo Votre français est excellent.
Here is a modernized version sung by Canadians:
