The Aggregate Of True Love A Poem
The Aggregate Of True Love A Poem He spoke about What true love is. What it means to him. As I asked him His definition. I want to bookmark Those words To recall at a later date. They give me hope That true love Is something I too can achieve. To be there Through thick and thin. For good times and bad He said to deal With someone when They are angry As well as sad. I might add That I too see the merits In being there For venting As well as consolation. But too much of one Is never a good thing. Wouldn't it be nice If it was reciprocated? My parents set a good example. There was love and caring It was nurturing and giving. They were not young lovers When they met But love's war veterans. Losers in such contests. Hoping for a second chance. They seized it like a life raft But it offered enough buoyancy To give them comfort. Therein lasting decades. Not saying it was all roses As other flowers bloomed But the weeds did not take away The beauty of days in aggregate. In fact that word is indicative Of the meaning of true love. So many elements Make it up. The combination unique For each participant. Independently Romantic Sounds Better Than Lonely |
